2020/2021 German Academic Scholarship For West African Countries

German Academic Scholarship. Applications are open from qualified individuals of West African Countries! For the award of the 2020/2021 German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship! At the Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS), University of Ghana! To study Master’s of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Studies.

The regional institute for population studies is passionate about producing well-trained quality researchers in population and problem-solving students in the area of development challenges. The scholarship award is only for West African Countries.

The German Academic Scholarship duration period for the Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degree program is one and four years respectively. However, note that the scholarship award will cover tuition, accommodation, and stipends for the said duration time.

Criteria / Eligibility for The MA and Ph.D. Programs

  1. Applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of a West African County, Cameroon is inclusive.
  2. Must show strong commitment and motivation.
  3. Applicants must have completed their last university degree not more than 6 years ago as at the date of the application.
  4. A minimum of second class upper divisions for first degree and a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify for MSA and Ph.D. program.

German Academic Scholarship Document Requirements

Important Documents To Be Submitted By Master of Acts Applicants

  1. Undergraduate Certificate
  2. Undergraduate Transcript
  3. One-page motivation statement
  4. TOEFL score (70 and above) or IELTS score (6.0 and above) not more than two years at the time of application (if applying as a national or permanent resident of Francophone/Lusophone country)
  5. Submit all documents to Regional Institute for Population Studies

Important Documents To Be Submitted By Ph.D. Applicants

  1. Graduate and Undergraduate Certificates
  2. Graduate and Undergraduate Transcripts
  3. One-page motivation statement
  4. Research proposal (this must include a research background, proposed research objective(s)/question(s) and methods sections) (3-page maximum, 1.5 line spaced minimum)
  5. Master’s degree obtained with a Master’s dissertation/thesis written in English (if applying as a national or permanent resident of Francophone/Lusophone country) OR
  6. TOEFL score (70 and above) or IELTS score (6.0 and above) not more than two years at the time of application (if applying as a national or permanent resident of Francophone/Lusophone country).
