Requirements For A Nigeria Passport

Below are the needed requirements for the processing of your Nigeria International Passport, they are as follows;

  • A letter of identification from your local government or state of origin.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • Birth certificate or Age declaration.
  • Nigeria e-passport and one passport-size photograph of the Guarantor’s.
  • Completed Guarantor’s form with a photocopy of the data page of Guarantor’s.
  • Acknowledgment slip and evidence of payment.
  • Guarantor’s form sworn to before a commissioner of Oaths, Magistrate or High Court Judge.
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable).
  • Name change affidavit (if applicable).
  • Police report in case of loss of passport.
  • A Guarantor must attach the following documents; Photocopy of the data page of Nigerian Standard Passport, Driving License or National Identity Card.

Guidelines On How To Apply For Nigeria Passport

Follow the step-by-step guideline below to apply for a Nigeria Passport;

Step 1: Log in to the official website of Nigeria Immigration Portal. See link Nigeria Passport Guideline

Step 2: Click on the appropriate application form to start the process: e-Passport Application Form
MRP – Passport Application Form (Not Applicable In all Missions).

Step 3: Choose the type Standard e-Passport or Official e-Passport, then click on the Start Application Button.

Step 4: Fill the Application form completely; check the I ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS FORM checkbox then click the PRINT Button to print filled form.

Step 5: Click on the Submit Application button to view the Applicant details page.

Step 6: Tap on Proceed to Online Payment.

Step 7: Click to select Payment Currency Pay in Naira or Pay in Dollars option then Click on the Continue button.

Step 8: Select the currency you want to use for payment (Naira or US Dollars).

Step 9: If you choose the option to pay in Naira, you will be prompted to select PayType (Bank, Credit or Debit card).

Step 10: Select Bank and click continue, if you wish to pay in the bank.

Step 11: All participating banks will be made available, select the bank and click on Continue.

Step 12: The Print Acknowledgment button will help you print Payment Acknowledgment Slip with the Transaction ID, Application ID and Reference Number.

Step 13: With a copy of your Payment acknowledgment slip, go to a participating bank for payment.

Step 14: On making payment at the bank, you must be issued with an approved payment platform provider receipt that contains a Validation Number. You will need the Validation Number for confirmation of payment on the portal.

Step 15: If you intend to pay through Credit/Debit card, choose Credit/Debit card and click continue.

Step 16: You will be required to fill in your login details.

Step 17: After filling in, click the Login button and you will be sent to the payment portal.

Step 18: For proceeding with the payment click the PAY button.

Step 19: Payment portal display application details, click on Continue button.

Step 20: You will be prompted to the Value Card payment page, provide information about your card and Click on the OK button.

Step 21: After payment, the Validation Number is generated. Store it and use it to confirm the payment.

Step 22: You can also print a receipt by clicking the Print the Receipt button.

How To Use Your Validation Number

  • Once you have obtained the validation number, go to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal for confermation of payment.
  • Hover to the Query your Application Payment Status and enter your Passport Application ID and Reference No.
  • The Validation Number fields will display, kindly input the number from your ‘approved payment platform provider’ receipt.
  • Click the Search Record button and you will be sent to the Applicant’s Details page where a date for your interview has been generated.
  • At this point you can now print a Receipt or an Acknowledgement Slip by using the buttons on this page. (You will need them for your interview).
  • After that you will be issued with your NIS e-receipt or Acknowledgement Slip in a new window. Click on Print button to send a copy to the printer.
